Giovanni Angotti

Well For those of you who know me this will most likely bore you to death, but just hang with me.

My name is Giovanni Angotti. I currently live in Winston-Salem, NC where I work full time for a theatrical rigging manufacturer as a Controls & Automation Engineer. I am also work part time with a company called phenomena productions as well as owning a small computer and web consulting business. How I got here is nothing short of a novel but I will do my best to give you the cliff notes for it.

I graduated in 1995 From Stearns High School in Millinocket, ME.  (Yes it is really cold there in the winter!) Always having a passion for theater and the arts, I decided that I wanted to have one of the best educations I could get even if it meant leaving my family and moving 1200 miles away.  To prepare for this future I had decided upon, I took a year and went to school at Northern Penobscot Tech, Region 3 Vocational School.  There I studied, computers, Electrical wiring, Electronics, and welding to help me get a jump on my college career.  After spending a year or so there I finally decided it was time to move on and apply for enrollment to the North Carolina School of the Arts School of Design and Production. The odds were stacked against me from the start, small theater background, very tough program to get into, (#2 In the country at that time), but for some reason or another the faculty there thought I had what it takes and thus I moved to North Carolina. The move was hard, I left behind everyone I ever knew (band mates, friends, girlfriends, family) and was now transplanted 1200 miles from home. While in college I worked fulltime as a construction manager of the schools new Film Exhibition building for the school of filmmaking.  and eventually when the building was finished was the maintenance technician for the building.  at the same time I was also enrolled as a full time student. (and yes it was a lot to juggle) In the spring of 2001 I received my bachelors degree in Fine arts with a concentration in technical theater.  Shortly after that I was hired by CRS-Technologies (the Rigging Manufacturer) as an Estimator.  I have changed roles several times from Project Manager to Installation Manager, Systems Integration, engineer, and now Controls and Engineering Manager Have installed Jobs In several states including, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, and many more.  as well as working on projects that have gone all over the world.

So this is how I got to where I am, please feel free to browse through my pictures the few of them that there are!
